Qantas have finalised plan to acquire 110 A320 aircraft. Airbus is saying that the level of orders and commitments for the type now stands at 1,245.

Aviation Week reported that with enough deals now secured, Airbus has now topped its previous top order intake, achieved in 2007, of 1,458 aircraft. Whilst some deals, namely Air France-KLM’s purchase of 60 A350XWBs and Republic Airways’s deal for 80 A319NEOs have yet to hit the order books.

Qantas will start fielding its NEOs in 2015, engine selection has not yet been finalised.
Alan Joyce, Qantas CEO states that “the Airbus A320 will be the launch aircraft for Qantas’ new, premium airline based in Asia and will support Jetstar’s expansion plans – including the establishment of Jetstar Japan.”
